Bloop update!
Hello again friends of Bloop! Sorry for the delay in no new Bloop news but a few of the other comics projects I’m developing have taken over my life. I’ll be sure to link the new stuff when I’m allowed.
I miss Bloop too and can’t wait until I can get back to work on him!

More Bloop on the way!
I was approached by a writer whose work I greatly admire to collaborate on a pitch for a potential new comic project. It’s meant a short interruption in Bloop but new Bloop material is on the way. Sorry for the delay. When I’m free to post some preview art from the new project, I will.

Free Comic Book Day 2009
On Saturday, May 2, I’ll be taking part in the Free Comic Book Day events at Cards, Comics and Collectibles in Resieterstown, Maryland. Come by for a sketch of Bloop!
General Bloopiness
I’m currently working on a complete, rough version of the 150-page Bloop story. This is a new methodology for me and it’s inspired by Pixar.
In watching some of the behind-the-scenes of Wall-E, I was amazed at just how far from the original concept the movie went. Just some of the biggest changes…
Bloop page 3 – black and white
Here’s a look at page 3 of Bloop. Preliminary pencils and a raw scan of the inks can be found in the Behind The Scenes section.

Color
Initially, I wanted the color of Boop to be super simple for two reasons: 1) I think the detailed artwork would have a nice contrast with the flat colors and 2) it would be faster. I’m not sure if I was right on either count so I’m redoing the color of the previously posted page 1.
But I don’t want the recoloring of the pages to slow down the inking, so I’ll be posting final inks to the blog and the comic page.

Bloop at the Kids Love Comics Diner
This print was made by John Gallagher (creator of Buzzboy and co-creator of Roboy Red) and Kids Love Comics. Each artist contributed characters. I added Bloop enjoying a frosty milk shake (presumably banana-flavored)…

The Kids Love Comics Comic Book Diner
Among the all-ages creators who contributed to “The Diner” Jimmy Gownley (Amelia Rules!), John Gallagher and Rich Faber (Buzzboy, Roboy Red), Art Baltazar and Franco Aurleani (Patrick the Wolfboy, Tiny Titans), Scott Neely (Scooby Doo), Josh Elder (Mail Order Ninja), Dean Trippe (Butterfly), Mark McKenna (Banana Tail, DC Countdown), Scott Cohn (Krypto, Ben 10), and Jamie Cosley (Fearnots).
